Camp Victory Car Smash
Alpha Tau Omega decided to raise money for a local camp for handicap children call "Camp Victory". We were able to have a car donated by a local junk yard(which also included the removal of the engine, windows, and airbags). It was then transported to our football field for our Homecoming football game against Millersville University. We charged people for "x" amount of time spent beating the car (which was paint Millersville colors) with any chosen "tool" they decided upon. After all was said and done, we managed to raise over $500 for Camp Victory. This event was also supported by a local sorority 'Chi Sigma Rho'.
Bra Drive
"Free the Girls" is a non-profit organization that saves women and young girls from human trafficking. Once they are removed from human trafficking, they are sent to "Safe Houses" and after-care facilities, but only so much can be done there. The organization then provides these ladies with lightly worn bras that the women repair and sell for more than minimum wage in their third word countries.
Alpha Tau Omega asked each sorority on campus to accept a hamper and fill it with as many bras as they could. The brothers then asked their friends and those ladies asked theirs, creating a ripple effect. The Fraternity collected 655 bras over eight weeks, a number we can surely be proud of!
